Ghana: call for mining firms to pay higher royalties

 

In Ghana, National Coalition on Mining (NCOM) called on government to implement a royalty tax of six per cent on mining to generate more funds for development. It also demanded comprehensive mandatory guidelines for preferring sanctions against “corporate impunity that is characteristic of mining firms”.
