Household cleaners blamed in breast cancer cases

 

In the U.S., Silent Spring Institute claimed a possible link between breast cancer and household cleaners and pesticides, based on telephone interviews with 700 Cape Cod, Massachusetts women who had breast cancer diagnosed between 1988 and 1995, compared to 700 controls. The study relied on the women accurately recalling exposure to these products years after the event.
