South Korea's river connection scheme attracts more protest

 

In South Korea, Friends of the Earth / KFEM activists occupied a dam on the Namhan River in protest at the environmental damage caused by the Four Major Rivers project. FoE claimed 100 river wetlands on the National Wetland Inventory will be affected. It wants the government to abandon the project and consider alternatives.
