Chinese mining firm rapped for hiding pollution

 

In China, NRDC China, Friends of Nature, Green Camel Bell, Green Eyes, Green Earth Volunteers and allies filed a complaint with the Hong Kong and Shanghai Stock Exchanges alleging lack of proper disclosure by the Zijin Mining Group and calling for an investigation. It alleged that a major leak of acid at the company's Zijinshan Copper Mine was incorrectly reported as being due to rainfall, and that the company is failing to take responsibility for the damage.
