Allianz and Swiss Re are the brands most praised by NGOs in the third quarter this year, thanks to their efforts to tackle climate change. This is the second quarter in a row that they have topped the ranking from global research and strategy consultancy SIGWATCH, based on its monitoring of more than 9,000 NGOs in July through September. However, while finance firms may be in the lead, luxury fashion brands dominate the top ten on account of their stance on animal welfare. Burberry, Gucci, Versace, LVMH Group, Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo have all made new or heightened commitments to end the use of fur, which has earned them praise from PETA and other animal rights groups and a place in the ranking for the first time this year.
